Welcome to the RL Music Education Blog
This blog is a space where I explore the ideas, experiences and creative approaches that shape my work as a music educator. Over the years, through DJing, mentoring, afterschool programmes, SEND work and creative projects, I’ve seen how music can unlock confidence, curiosity, identity and resilience in young people and adults.
Here you’ll find reflections on adolescence, creativity, learning, teaching, culture and community — alongside insights from the programmes and projects I run through Grooveschool and RL Music Education.
Some posts are philosophical, some are practical, some are personal. All of them link back to a single idea:
Creativity helps people grow.
This blog is a place to share what I’ve learned, what I’m still learning, and the stories and moments that continue to shape my work.
Thanks for reading,
Richard
