In respect of modern day music production my slant is to DJ based music and i incorporate sound engineering and hardware techniques into the software setups that are accessible. 

I use software packages such as Logic and Ableton, Maschine and Reason to teach the basics of music production. 

I travel to schools as a visiting music teacher and as well as runing large classes by running programmes such as Logic, i also run 121 sessions for students who have been identified as in need of some mentoring and re-engagement with education.
